How does it work?

1
See the challenge

The team opens the challenge in the Tangible Tournament App and works out what it is asking.

2
Put the device down

Learners build their solution together using the physical Tangible puzzle pieces.

3
Test the answer

Back to the app to run the code and see whether the car makes it round the track.

4
Change it and race again

If it does not work, change something and test again. That is where the learning happens.

What do we need?

Tangible game packs

A Tangible game pack for every team taking part.

Buy game packs →

A device and the app

One phone or tablet per team, running the Tangible Tournament App.

A team of learners

3 to 5 per team, with three competition categories:

  • Junior: schools, libraries and learning spaces (~7–13 years)
  • Senior: schools, libraries and learning spaces (~13–18 years)
  • Open: university / tertiary students (~18+ years)

Learners enter according to their current education level, not strictly their age.

One coordinator

A teacher, librarian or volunteer. No coding knowledge needed.

Start with one team

You do not need a computer lab, a coding background or a big budget. You need one team of learners willing to try things.
